Zahary Baharov Biography
Zachary Baharov was born in 1980 in Sofia. He went in for acting while at high school by accident in 1997. A year later he was admitted to the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. Baharov's first role on the professional stage was Capulet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet directed by Liliya Abadzhieva. Since 2003 he has been on Ivan Vazov National Theatre's company where some of his roles are: John in Neil LaBute's Bash; Duncan in Ionesco's Macbett ; Bridaine in Alfred doe Musset's No Trifling with Love; Borkin in Ivanov after Chehov. He is an Icarus 2008 nominee for an Actor in a Leading Role for his play in Javor Gardev's production of The Old Woman from Calcutta after Hanoch Levin. He has been awarded Icarus 2007 for an Actor in a Supporting Role for Sganarelle in Moliere's Don Juan directed by Aleksandar Morfov and Askeer 2006 for an Actor in a Supporting Role for the Fool in Shakespear's King Lear directed by Javor Gardev. The role of the Moth in Zift is his first serious featuring in a film.
