
Like the plot line from a classic novel, a young boy's is life threatened by civil war, forcing him to flee his homeland. Leaving behind his parents to begin a life in the land of opportunity, this young man turns his adversity into an internationally acclaimed career. This is no fiction, it is beginning of the story of Said Faraj. The young immigrant turned international actor who's life is nothing short of the altruistic 'American Success' story.Living with his aunts, while his parents faced wartime hardships, Said Faraj was not living the ideal teenage life most of his American counterparts were experiencing in their younger years. After graduating from North Hollywood High School, Said started working various odd jobs on the assumed path of normality, however nothing seemed to fit. After trying his hand at literally over '20 jobs in 2 years,' Said began to realize his passion was not in a 9-to5 job, however in acting.In a decision which would change his life, Said put behind his past work and went in pursuit of an acting career with a dedicated vigor, fueled by his personal past - however, as Said began, he realized he had no idea where to start. Not wanting to give up, Said found himself back at his high school to seek the advice and validation of a trusted mentor.She encouraged the young Said to follow his passion - don't have a 'Plan B,' and to study and audition his heart out until he succeeded. She gave him the sage advice and unfettered inspiration at just the right time. Immediately after this encounter, Said began studying and auditioning until he landed his first speaking role in the film W.B., Blue and the Bean (1989) (V) starring David Hasselhoff.Over the subsequent years, Said has been part of the greatest films of our generation, such as Ghost (1990), Bad Influence (1990), True Romance (1993), and The Siege (1998/I). Said has also starred in reoccurring roles in some of TV's top-rated shows like "24" (2001) and "The Shield" (2002); and most recently Said appeared as a guest star on several other successful shows, including Bones, and The Unit.Since becoming an established actor, Said has been able to share his experiences and worked with the Who's Who of talented directors, including Tony Scott, Ed Zwick, Curtis Hanson, Sam Raimi, Jerry Zucker and Paul Greengrass, who cast Said in one of the major supporting roles in the film Green Zone (2010), starring Matt Damon.Said's career path has not kept him from achieving the most quintessential part of the American Dream, his family. Said is a proud father of two children, Amir and Abraham, with his partner, Mexican school teacher Judith Faraj.
