Derick Martini Biography
Born in New York city, brother of Steven Martini. He made his feature film debut as co-writer, producer and actor in the award winning and critically acclaimed independent film, Smiling Fish & Goat on Fire (1999)which won the Discovery award at the Toronto Internation Film Festival and The Audience Award at The Milan Internation Film Festival. The brothers made the film on a shoe string budget of 40,000 dollars and it was theatrically released through IDP/Stratosphere in 2000-01. His next screenplay, 'Lymelife' (2008), was developed at Sundance Filmmaker's Lab and won the International Critic's Award, the (FIPRESCI), at The Toronto International Film Festival in September of 08. 'Lymelife' is scheduled to be released theatrically in early 2009.
