Otis Williams, the leader of the Temptations from day one, was born October 30, 1941 in Texarkana, Texas. He was already singing by the time he was in junior high inspired by nationally known vocal groups as well as the local Diablos. The Temptations were the end result of the merging of two groups in 1960.
